An example of a custom manufactured lifejacket chest. None of the standard models would fit exactly in the location available. This was made more complex by having a small crane which could be over the top of the chest. For this reason the chest not only has a top opening lid but doors on the front so the lifejackets can be accessed in two ways. The height of the cabinet was just slightly lower than the ship’s rail so didn’t distract from the seaview.
