Guy Atkins, MD, joined 40 members of the Somerset business community at event organised by Inspire business at Leigh Park Country House Hotel & Vineyard on Friday.
He got to hear first-hand from Michelle Donelon (Secretary of State for Science, Innovation and Technology) the steps that the UK Government are taking, to make sure that the vast opportunities of AI are realised.
At the same time, that the downside risks are minimised and managed. The importance of how this exponentially expanding subject can be distilled down into something that is digestible to SME’s like ours was emphasised. “We don’t have the resources of larger companies to do in-depth research into this area, and need assistance if we are to harness it’s benefits fully and mitigate the risks” he stated.
