Storms Bert and Conall are reminders to those of us who live in the UK, of the power of the wind. We seem to have more than our fair share but at least it is useful at generating renewable energy! Not so enjoyable for those poor souls whose houses were immersed in flood water though.
On a more positive note, Cadeler A/S have ordered 5 new wind turbine installation vessels (WTIVs). Two of these are very large A class jack ups. They will help to ease the shortage of this type of vessel to help drive the ambitious growth in offshore wind projects.
These vessels will be very heavily used in the coming years, so the engineers have specified high quality Jo Bird cabinets for the life jacket, anti-exposure and immersion suits to help protect the crew of this vessel on the latest, Wind Ally. Our thanks to the engineers working for Cadeler, Cosco and to Viking Life-saving in China, for specifying our products.
